Told Mom . . . . Finally
Went to visit my mother today. I already knew my uncle was visiting from Florida, so I expected extra people at the house when we got there. I really wasn't sure how to tell her about everything that has been going on lately (engagement, pregnancy) so I still put it off. After a while everyone else left, but Bill came over and we went to eat. I still hadn't said anything. I kinda wanted to say something while we were at the diner, but I'm a chicken LOL I figured if I told her in a public place she couldn't cause too much of a scene about it! Mike decided that we should definitely tell her when we got back to the house. I still didn't want to, so he did. The only person who even reacted was Bill, and I don't even remember what he said. Mom made some comment about me not being able to take care of myself...but was otherwise non-responsive. Granted, she hasn't been feeling well since Friday. Even so, I expected something. She could have yelled at me. Then I would know at least she has some feeling on the matter, even if it's not the excitement I hoped for. I can tell it's going to be a long time til May gets here, definitely going to be a long winter.

First Visit
So we just got back from visiting Michael's mom and friends and family in Bradford. It was a wonderful weekend, although the weather is getting chilly there now - something I'm not quite used to. While there, I scheduled an Ob-Gyn appointment for when we got back to Maryland. Everything went well, and I have to go back in two weeks to discuss the results of the tests. The doctor told me I'm about 7 1/2 weeks along (check out my new lilypie ticker ->), and that the baby was conceived on the 13th (?). How accurate are they with that? I was alone then, Michael didn't move until the 16th! I also figured out that they do calculate from your last menstrual cycle - which also doesn't make sense to me. Oh well, this whole thing will be a learning experience for both of us.

Something wonderful is happening . . . .
Aside from Michael's mother totally loving me, her soon to be daughter-in-law. We are expecting a baby! Now I am not certain how far along we are yet, but it can't be more than 4 weeks. Although the way I have been feeling, the charts have been trying to put me at past 5 wks along, which just is not possible... unless it happened the last time he visited, which would have been early August.
